Logline
After 28 years of farming the same land, a family is forced to confront the risk of losing it, testing their strength as they fight to hold onto the soil that shaped their lives.
Synopsis
"BINHI" follows the story of Jerry and Mercy Bacani, a farmer couple who have devoted 28 years of their lives to cultivating the same land, raising their family and livelihood from the soil they’ve come to call their own. Their peaceful routine is disrupted when the landowner decides to revise their harvest-sharing agreement and contemplates selling the land, putting the couple’s future at risk. In this moment of uncertainty, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) intervenes, offering a compromise: Jerry and Mercy may continue farming the land for life, provided they fulfill a new condition—delivering 39 sacks of rice per harvest. Faced with financial pressure and the challenges of aging, the couple remains steadfast, drawing strength from their love, perseverance, and commitment to the land. 'BINHI' is a moving portrayal of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and the transformative role of DAR in protecting the dignity, dreams, and legacy of Filipino farmers.

Producer's Intent
As the producer of BINHI, my vision is to shed light on the everyday struggles and quiet heroism of our farmers, delivering a story that honors their sacrifices and inspires deeper appreciation for the land they tirelessly fight to keep.
